Fuji View Hotel

This hotel is such a gem! The view, gardens, onsite onsen, and breakfast buffet are all fabulous. My kids are still talking about the breakfast buffet. Just be aware that this is not a new, flashy decor hotel. It felt a bit like stepping back into a very quiet time, which we loved about it. My kids also really loved staying in a Japanese family suite (on tatami mats), but realize that might not be the case for every family if you are used to Western style hotels.

It's our second time here because we loved it so much last time. We stayed in a Ryokan with lake view again and enjoyed the spacious room so much. It's not only a room to sleep in but also to take some Bento from the Supermarket/Konbini and enjoy it at the table in this beautiful room. The bathroom(s) consist of three parts: One with the bathroom sink, then two doors leading to a toilet and the other to the Japanese style shower/bath. We only used the shower once because we always enjoy the onsen downstairs in the evening which is beautiful. We especially love the outside onsen bath because it is decorated like a natural hot spring. The Yukata that are provided from the hotel and that you can use for your trip forth and back from the onsen are also beautiful. Also, I love using the massage chairs after using the onsen. After our hike on Fujisan the onsen and massage chairs saved my feet. :) Another exceptional thing about the hotel is that they offer a shuttle service forth and back to Kawaguchiko station. Just remember to book your seat in the morning in advance. The breakfast is also extremely delicious, there are two chefs preparing omelette and pancakes live. Again it has been a wonderful experience.

Beautiful surrounding, lovely staff who were very helpful. Breakfast was very comprehensive buffet. Didn’t dine as thought too expensive. The hotel shuttle bus is excellent to the Kawaguchi station. Hotel is some distance so we were grateful to have the shuttle but there is a Green line sightseeing bus stop 28 at back of the hotel which is helpful as well. Great views of Mount Fuji from hotel. Onsen was great too.

Very quiet, peaceful, tranquil accommodation in a forest setting next to the lake with great views of Mount Fuji. Observation rooms on the top floor with great views of the mountain, lake and forested hills. It is a distance from the town which bustles with tourist activity during the day. There is a free shuttle to take you in to join the activities, tours, gondola, or to catch a train or coach. There are traditional Japanese rooms with foutons and Western style rooms with beds.

Fuji View Hotel is a huge hotel with breathtaking views of the lake and Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see Mt. Fuji from the hotel as we were out on a tour when we finally caught a glimpse, if you will be staying in a Fuji View room would definitely be an incredible experience. It was fully booked during our visit so we chose a twin room with lake view. The hotel is surrounded by cherry blossom trees, which weren’t blooming yet during our stay, but I can only imagine how beautiful it would be in full bloom. The hotel’s ambience is wonderful, especially the downstairs area overlooking the garden—it’s so peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was great, offering a wide variety of Western and Japanese options. The staff were all very kind and helpful. Our twin room with a lake view was spacious and absolutely stunning. Waking up to foggy mountains and the serene lake every morning was a breathtaking experience. Because the hotel is large, it is a bit farther from restaurants and convenience stores. There is one about a 5–10 minute walk away, but we usually took a taxi to the center, where supermarkets and restaurants are, which costs around 1,600 yen one way. The staff were happy to call a taxi for us whenever needed. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko Station, which was very convenient. Just be sure to arrive at the pickup location on time, as the shuttle arrives on schedule and leaves almost immediately. Overall, our stay was amazing, and I would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful and scenic getaway! PS~ They also have a viewing deck at level 6 where you can see unobstructed views of Mt Fuji if you’re lucky ;)
